Architect Frank Lloyd Wright came to Oak Park in 1889. He built his studio there and designed 25 structures mostly in the historic district. There are also many other buildings designed by Prairie School architect Wright or his colleagues and students. Shown below are just a few, as well as other homes in the district. It’s important to note that simplicity and functionality of the Prairie School was a huge change from the ornate architecture of the late 1800s and early 1900s.
